I feel privileged that I have got an opportunity to be a part of the team “Miles for Tuesday” for the 2010 Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay on October 17. We have a common goal of raising funds for The Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in memory of Tuesday Whitt. During her battle with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer, Tuesday Whitt was cared for at The Children’s Hospital. It is said that “life is not measured in years,” and never has it been more true than in the lasting impact and legacy that Tuesday Whitt has left behind. Her life story has literally been heard around the world, and the hearts she has touched are countless. Though running takes me on a personal high, I consider my first half marathon as a great opportunity to contribute to the ongoing pediatric cancer research and care that is provided by one of the nation’s best centers for treating childhood cancer.
I am reaching out to you to support me for the race and my fundraising efforts. I would really appreciate if you spare a few moments on my fundraising web site (click here) to see my progress of fundraising. If you are able, we would appreciate any donation.  Regardless, please leave me a comment that will make every mile more meaningful as I try to pull this through.  Some of you may know that I have been training for this run for quite some time. My running coaches at the Highlands Ranch Running Club (Roxanne and Phillip) and my physiotherapist (Tim Runyon – who is working on my tendonitis) have committed to getting me to the start line on the Race Day. And I have personal commitment to all my supporters that I will get to the finish line.
